The individually tailored control concepts previously used for various Woma units will be replaced by a new, standardised control. In this way, Woma is responding to operators' wishes for more standardisation and flexible interfaces in the area of ultra high-pressure technology. Intuitive, time-saving operation and ensuring easy upgrades in the future were the main focus of the modernisation.

Based on the smartphone look, Woma uses clear symbols and concise, clear text in the new menu navigation. Central operating parameters such as operating pressure, temperature or intermediate gear preselection are all clearly displayed on one screen. Intuitive key combinations and operation via a control knob also make it easier for operators to handle these units.

Numerous interfaces for standards such as Ethernet, USB, CAN bus or RS232 enable Woma to introduce flexible new functions. This also includes, for example, a telematics module for remote diagnosis or an RFID system for user authentication and administration of access rights. Such function upgrades can easily be loaded as software updates via USB as well as visual or conceptual improvements to provide greater operating convenience. No reprogramming is necessary as operators can perform the updates themselves. No costs are incurred for using a programmer on site.

The new concept also makes troubleshooting much easier: operators can transfer the entire event storage – including the error archive – to a USB stick and send it to Woma. This makes it much easier for operators to detect erroneous operation and, if necessary, provide further training for personnel – without the need for a technician on site.

The first models to feature the new control are the hot water machines EcoTherm 600 and EcoTherm 800 (600 and 800 bar), which are now available on the market. All combustors will be converted to the new control by the end of 2017. The control is available in two versions: units with a pump size up to 250 HP as well as trailers will feature a 4" colour display with 11 integrated buttons and a control knob. Large units with larger pumps or an optional intermediate gear will feature a 7" display with additional buttons.
